The flood simulation conducted in the upper part of the Ping River Basin, which includes the urban area of Chiang Mai, was based on detailed topographical data obtained from HydroShed. Additionally, the simulation utilized precise rainfall data obtained from GSMaP. The floodwater propagation was meticulously modeled using the Shallow Water Equations (SWE), which allowed for a comprehensive analysis of the potential flood scenarios in the area.
